Simply Modern Damask Bag

This Bag is GINORMOUS!!! It's HUGE haha!

So I have gotten a lot of requests for a larger bag, well here it is...

well... actually it will be listed in the morning (9/10).

I figured in honor of my 1 year Etsyversary I would try a new pattern for a diaper bag. So, I bought the Amy Butler Birdie Sling Pattern. This bag is my 1st creation.

I love the Damask fabric, and its becoming more and more popular so I decided to take a crack at it :-) I paired it with stripes for a good bold POP! The two together are Classic & Gothic at the same time, and honestly it kinda reminds me of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" movie (one of my faves!)

And again this bag is very large. Just to give you an idea of how large it is: It takes roughly 5 yards of fabric, interfacing & fusible fleece to make it. And for my 1st time making it about 7 hours! whew!!! The pattern is easy to follow I'm just very thorough & tend to read a direction over & over to make sure I got it right. There is nothing I hate more than ripping seams & starting over haha!

I changed one of the pockets that come with the pattern by making it larger and adding elastic along the top (like in all my other bags) with 4 separations which are great for Baby Bottles, Glasses case, water bottles or anything else you want to organize into your bag.

Anyways before I bore you with all my sewing talk (which puts my hubby to sleep haha) check it out on my site I will list it first thing in the morning :-)

It's Beautiful!!! And your fabric choice is perfect! Everytime I have Michael Miller's Damask in my shop it sells out on the first day I post it! Good luck with your new bag! If I had a baby I'd totally buy it!
